What does an agent in an app do?

It works through a defined task with the context and actions you allow, and uses models to produce an answer or result. Design how people review its work and what happens when a step cannot be completed.

Does an agent need its own app?

An app can provide a place to request work, inspect context, and review results. An agent can work with that app's data and files, so the task stays connected to a useful experience.

Is an agent in an app the same as a coding agent?

No. An agent in your app does work for the people who use the app. A coding agent writes an app's code for you. That is a different way to build, covered on the coding agents page.
