Build with Claude Code
Build in Claude Code. Publish on Exepad.
Create and update Exepad apps with the coding assistant you already use. Build a private preview, review the result, and approve publication when it is ready.
Claude Code access requires Exepad Pro. See supported app types and current pricing before connecting.
What you will build.
A one-page project-estimate calculator that anyone can open and use.
- Visitors enter an hourly rate, estimated hours and, if they want one, a contingency percentage.
- The page shows the subtotal, the contingency amount and the total.
- Everything runs in the browser. There are no accounts, and nothing is saved.
Building from Claude Code needs Exepad Pro, which puts the calculator live when you approve it.
How it works.
Claude Code writes the app. Exepad builds it into a private preview and puts it live when you approve.
-
Add Exepad
Run one command in your terminal. The setup is below.
-
Sign in and choose apps
Claude Code opens Exepad sign-in. Sign in and choose which apps it may use.
-
Create
Ask for the app. Claude Code creates it from Exepad's starter template and writes the code.
-
Preview
Exepad builds a private preview that only you can open. Review it and ask for changes.
-
Approve
Claude Code prepares the publish and gives you a link. You approve it in Exepad, and the app goes live.
-
Update
Ask for the next change, review the new preview and approve the new publish.
The prompts.
Send them in order in Claude Code, with Exepad added: start the calculator, change it, then prepare it for publication.
Use Exepad to create a one-page project-estimate calculator. Let visitors enter an hourly rate, estimated hours, and an optional contingency percentage. Show the subtotal, contingency amount, and total. Keep everything in the browser with no accounts or saved data. Build a private preview for me to review.
Add a fixed-fee option and a reset button. Keep the current design and show me the updated preview.
Prepare this version for publication and give me the Exepad approval link.
Connect Claude Code.
One command adds Exepad. Claude Code then opens Exepad sign-in, so there is no key to copy.

Be on Exepad Pro
Building apps from Claude Code is developer access, which is on Exepad Pro. Anthropic decides who can use Claude Code. Choose Pro on your Exepad plans page before you connect.
-
Add Exepad
Run this command in your terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http exepad https://mcp.exepad.com/mcp -
Sign in
Claude Code opens Exepad sign-in. Sign in and choose which apps it may use. Apps it creates through the connection are added for you.
-
Ask for the app
Claude Code uses create_app, apply_changes, build_preview and prepare_publish to create the app, change it, build a private preview and prepare a publish.
-
Approve each publish
You approve each publish in Exepad. The connection itself lasts 30 days from when you approve it at sign-in; see or revoke it in Connected assistants.
- Claude on the web and in its desktop app is a separate route, and it connects on every Exepad plan. See how to connect Claude.
- The reference steps, with other coding agents such as Cursor, are in Connect your coding agent.
Plans and cost.
- Claude Code connects on Exepad Pro, $25 a month.
- Each build is charged to your Exepad wallet at 0.5 US cents a minute, by the second, and at most 10 cents a build, drawn first from your monthly credit. A build starts only when the wallet can cover it.
- Your assistant's own tokens cost nothing at Exepad.
A second example: a request tracker.
Clients submit requests, and you move each one from New to In progress to Done. It saves records, so it is an app rather than a one-page site.
Exepad Pro puts it live too.
Create a client request tracker. Let a client submit a request with a title, a description and their email. Save each request so it is still there after a reload, show the list with a status of New, In progress or Done, and let me change the status. Use fictional sample requests while I review it.
Keep improving it.
- Ask Claude Code for the next change. Exepad builds a new private preview, and the live app changes only when you approve the new publish.
- An app Claude Code makes shows in Exepad Studio with its preview, and its changes come from Claude Code.
- An app you make in Studio from a prompt can be continued by Claude Code: choose it when you sign in. An app built in Studio before assistant editing existed stays in Studio.
- Apps your AI builds can't use AI models yet; for AI, create the app in Exepad Studio.
A little more context
Good questions.
Which Exepad plan do I need?
Building apps from Claude Code is developer access, which is on Exepad Pro. Anthropic decides who can use Claude Code.
How long does the connection last?
30 days from when you approve the connection at sign-in. You can see or revoke it before then in Connected assistants in Studio.
Can I publish a project I already have?
Not an existing codebase: Claude Code builds Exepad apps from Exepad's starter template, so start a new app through the connection and ask Claude Code to build what you need in it. An app you made in Studio from a prompt can be continued: choose it when you sign in. Older Studio apps, built before assistant editing existed, stay in Studio.
Can I use another coding agent?
Other coding agents and MCP clients, such as Cursor, connect the same way, as developer access on Exepad Pro.
Can I build with Claude on the web or in its desktop app?
Claude on the web and in its desktop app is a separate route, and it connects on every Exepad plan.
