How long does the first working version take?+

Can I keep changing it after people have the link?+
Yes, and that is the point. You describe what should be different and the app changes at the same address. Nobody has to be sent a new link, nothing has to be exported again, and the feedback you get on Thursday applies to the thing you shipped on Wednesday.
What if a change makes the app worse?+
You have two ways back. Describe what it should be instead and it changes again, the same way you made the change in the first place. Or open the version history in Studio and restore an earlier version — it comes back as your working draft, and republishing puts it live again. Nothing you shipped is ever the only copy that exists.
How far does the free plan actually get me?+
Realistically, one build plus a few rounds of changes. Free covers simple web apps — three apps in your account, one live at a time — and it does not store records, send email, or run on your own domain. The moment your prototype needs to keep what users type, it needs Pro.
Does the prototype have to be rebuilt to become the real product?+

Can testers use it on their own phones?+
Yes. It is an ordinary web address, so anyone you send it to opens it in their browser on any device. There is no app store, no invite flow and no install. If your app has sign-ins, testers make an account inside it like any other user would.
